Dear SAD #46 Families,

As the State continues to respond to COVID-19, Governor Janet Mills recently signed a proclamation extending Maine’s state of civil emergency (PDF) for another thirty days through May 15, 2020. This extends our current School Closure announcement from 4/27/20 to 5/15/20 and essentially continues our current operating procedures with remote learning.  Based on this proclamation it is becoming more likely that remote learning will continue for the rest of the school year.  We will keep you updated as we learn more about the future.  Teachers will continue to provide students with assignments and times to connect, ask questions, and receive help.  Remote learning will continue.

I want to re-emphasize that students in good standing will move to the next grade level for the 20-21 school year, as would normally be the case.  We are also considering plans, should it be necessary, to have an alternative way to honor our graduates in case a traditional ceremony isn’t possible.

We will continue to offer our breakfast/lunch program and encourage anyone who would like to participate to please contact the school where your child attends.

Families who comprise the SAD #46 Schools are strong, together.  We will eventually return to our students coming to school, and we will have learned much that will help us to be even better as a system.  In the meantime, we will continue to rely on one another as a community.
